The magic of live music has always been the genesis behind 9th Island!
Inspired by seeing bands like Oingo Boingo "upstage" The Police early in his life, Pete Carroll naturally saw the direction his life might go.
As a kid in the 80s, Pete began running backyard parties for his brothers’ bands. The magic had begun. Soon after he started co-producing concerts with legendary bands like The Ohio Players and Gap Band in NYC at the world famous CAFE WHA!
In the early 90s, Pete co-owned SilverSword Records in Honolulu, HI and produced On The Rock, a weekly cable music variety show featuring artists like as Uncle Willy K and HAPA. In 1997, he opened Moctazuma's Live Music Bar in Prescott, AZ booking cutting edge bands like Reverand Horton Heat.
Beginning in 2000 Pete created On The Rock Productions in Maui, producing his first Hawaii event The Maui Music Odyssey featuring Jack Johnson. In the next decade he went on to produce concerts with acts ranging from Michael Franti and Spearhead to the English Beat. With an edge for the provacative, Pete also created a bold series of speaking engagements booking controversial conspiracy theorist figures such as David Icke. “If the event and the people desire it...he will produce it”, says Pete.
Now Pete brings his talent and creativity to the Western States with several concerts featuring trending artists and long-time favorites. Watch for his premier 2 Day, Non Stop Music Festival Reno Rocs in June of 2019.

I love Music Festivals built by people and not by the corporate music machine. I love meeting like minded faces, to feeling that BOOM of awareness that live music brings.
This love has been with me since I was around 2 years of age, dancing on stage with Jack Johnson, from there I experienced countless uplifting shows, that my dad helped create with Michael Franti/ Spearhead, 311, English Beat, Katchafire and many others. Taking in the stoke and joy from all these experiences really solidified my commitment to being part of live music.
